While working with musicians and collectors around the world, David Brewer has developed a reputation for offering impeccable service and careful advice. His client relationships are based on integrity, trust, and genuine friendship. Through his expertise he has earned the respect of a large clientèle who have chosen him as custodian of some of the finest collections of rare instruments and bows. David comes from a gifted and musical family and has a strong background in the performing arts. As a child, he fondly remembers holiday gatherings that resembled scenes of the Von Trapp family singers from the Sound of Music. He is a native of Temple, Texas and a graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned a bachelor’s degree in violin performance under the instruction of Robert Davidovici, Phil Lewis and Igor Borodin. After graduating, David continued to play professionally in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro. He held various concertmaster posts while living in Texas and was an active chamber and studio musician. In 1996 David began to focus on pursuing a solo career but suffered a setback when he was injured in an auto-mobile accident that permanently damaged his left hand and shoulder. He took a job in sales for a national firm and soon he was the leading salesperson out of 5,000 representatives. After the wreck, David continued physical therapy for quite some time and in 2 years he was again playing professionally. In 1998 was offered a job as sales manager for the violin dealer Wayne Burak & Associates in Arlington, TX. This was the perfect field where David’s experience in violin performance and sales could be utilized to the fullest. In 2000 he moved to Albuquerque and became Sales Manager of Robertson & Sons Violin Shop.
